Best for: MyWhoosh athletes who want Xert to plan training and MyWhoosh to execute it—while keeping analysis, progression, and training recommendations in Xert.
In this guide: How to connect MyWhoosh to Xert, where to find workouts in MyWhoosh, how activities sync back to Xert, and common questions/troubleshooting.
Quick Answers
- Connect from MyWhoosh: MyWhoosh Profile Settings → Connections → Xert → Connect.
- Where workouts appear: MyWhoosh Calendar & Planning (not the standard Workouts menu).
- Workout sync behavior: MyWhoosh typically fetches your Workout of the Day / planned workout from Xert (often on app startup).
- Activity sync: Completed MyWhoosh rides (not just workouts) can sync back to Xert automatically.
Overview
Connecting MyWhoosh to Xert creates a simple workflow:
- Choose or schedule training in Xert
- Open MyWhoosh and complete the workout (or free ride / race)
- MyWhoosh syncs the completed activity back to Xert for analysis, progression, and updated training recommendations
This lets you combine Xert’s adaptive planning (XATA) or outcome-driven planning (Forecast AI) with MyWhoosh’s indoor training experience.
Connect MyWhoosh to Xert (Step-by-step)
MyWhoosh integration is connected from your MyWhoosh account settings.
- Open MyWhoosh Profile Settings
- Go to the Connections tab
- Find Xert and click Connect
- Log in with your Xert credentials and approve permissions
- Confirm your account shows as connected
How to confirm it’s working
- In Xert, schedule (or select) a workout for today
- Open MyWhoosh and check Calendar & Planning for the Xert workout
- Complete a short test ride and confirm it appears in Xert afterward
Integration Features
Xert Workouts in MyWhoosh
Xert workouts appear in MyWhoosh under Calendar & Planning—not the standard Workouts menu.
Where to look:
- MyWhoosh → Calendar → your scheduled day
MyWhoosh syncs your daily workout / WOTD, not your full multi-week schedule. So, you’ll only see today’s workout in the MyWhoosh calendar, even if you have more planned in your Xert calendar. If you have multiple planned workouts on a given day, the one MyWhoosh retrieves may depend on chronological order.
Important: MyWhoosh “pulls” the workout
MyWhoosh typically requests your workout for the day from Xert (often when MyWhoosh starts). If you change workouts in Xert while MyWhoosh is already open, you may not see the update until you restart MyWhoosh.
Tip: For best results, select the workout in Xert first → then open/restart MyWhoosh.
Activity sync back to Xert
After any MyWhoosh ride (not just workouts), completed activities can sync back to Xert automatically—no manual uploads required. This includes group rides & race activities!
Tip (optional setup): If you use Strava, you can let Xert forward your MyWhoosh rides to Strava (with Xert summaries/reports). For more information on that, see this guide: How to Show Xert Breakthrough & Workout Reports on Strava
Troubleshooting
My Xert workout isn’t showing in MyWhoosh
This is usually because MyWhoosh hasn’t refreshed its daily workout pull.
Fix checklist:
- Confirm Xert is connected in MyWhoosh (Profile → Connections)
- In Xert, ensure a workout is actually scheduled/selected for today
- Close and restart MyWhoosh, then check Calendar
- If still missing: disconnect/reconnect Xert inside MyWhoosh
My workout shows on the wrong day (timezone issues)
Some users see workouts appear as “yesterday” or “tomorrow,” which can be related to timezone handling inside MyWhoosh.
What to do:
- Check whether MyWhoosh is using a different timezone region than your local time
- If the date placement is consistently off, capture screenshots and contact support so we can confirm the behavior with MyWhoosh’s current version
My interval targets look wrong or some steps show as “Free Ride”
A common cause is Mixed Mode or platform limitations with certain workout step types—some segments can export as “Free Ride” in third-party apps if they don’t support the same workout features.
Fast fix:
- Try a different “standard” workout to compare
- If a specific workout consistently exports poorly, copy/edit it in the Workout Designer to remove unsupported step types (advanced)
Common Questions (FAQ)
Can I use Magic Buckets with MyWhoosh?
MyWhoosh doesn’t offer the Magic Buckets feature natively, but you can still use Magic Buckets as part of your training:
- Ride/race in ROUVY/MyWhoosh, using the Magic Buckets data field on Garmin, Hammerhead, or Xert EBC app to hit your Low/High/Peak targets.
- If you prefer a structured workout session, you can also generate a Magic Buckets workout in Xert and complete it in ROUVY/MyWhoosh.
Where do Xert workouts appear in MyWhoosh?
In Calendar & Planning, not under the standard Workouts menu.
Do I need to start MyWhoosh after choosing a workout in Xert?
Usually, yes. MyWhoosh typically pulls your workout from Xert on startup, so the reliable workflow is: choose/schedule in Xert → restart MyWhoosh → check Calendar.
Will MyWhoosh sync all future workouts from my plan?
In most cases, MyWhoosh is focused on your current daily workout (WOTD / planned workout), not the whole plan weeks ahead.
