Activity Sync and Workout Sync (ELEMNT + SYSTM)

Connecting Wahoo to Xert
Wahoo uses two separate connections—one for activity sharing and one for workout delivery.
1) Enable Activity Sync (Wahoo → Xert) in the Wahoo app
To share completed Wahoo activities to Xert, you must authorize Xert in the Wahoo app.
- Open the Wahoo app
- Go to Account by tapping your profile photo, then select Authorized Apps
- Find Xert and Authorize it
- Once authorized, enable Auto-sharing (recommended) so completed activities sync automatically
Important: This step is required for activities completed in the Wahoo ecosystem (including SYSTM) to be sent to Xert.
2) Enable Workout Sync (Xert → Wahoo) in Xert
To send planned structured workouts to Wahoo, you must connect your Wahoo account in Xert.
- Head to Xert Online
- Go to Sync → Wahoo
- Click Connect Wahoo and Approve Permissions
- Confirm the status shows Connected
You will find any workouts that Xert has synced to Wahoo listed below.
Important: This step is required to import compatible planned workouts into the Wahoo app/ELEMNT.
How to Manage Wahoo partner permissions
You can manage the two parts of the Wahoo integration separately:
- Stop workout sync (Xert → Wahoo): In Xert, go to Sync → Wahoo and disconnect.
- Stop activity sharing (Wahoo → Xert): In the Wahoo app, go to Profile → Authorized Apps and revoke Xert access.

Integration Features
Automatic Import for New Activities (Wahoo → Xert)
Once Xert is authorized in the Wahoo app, activities recorded in the Wahoo ecosystem can sync to Xert automatically. In the Wahoo app, make sure Auto-Share is enabled for Xert under Authorized Apps so new activities are forwarded without any extra steps.
Note: Activity sync in Xert depends on the activity being successfully uploaded in the Wahoo ecosystem first (phone sync/internet required).
Structured Workouts Sent to Wahoo (Xert → Wahoo)
When your Wahoo account is connected in Xert, compatible planned structured workouts can be delivered to Wahoo for execution, either using the Wahoo app or an ELEMNT device.
Note: Xert's SMART workouts lose their dynamic/adaptive capabilities when exported to 3rd party platforms, like Wahoo. Intervals are exported as standard %FTP intervals.

Important Limitation: no Xert real-time metrics on Wahoo devices
Wahoo ELEMNT devices do not support third-party developer data fields in the same way Garmin Connect IQ or Hammerhead Extensions do. That means Wahoo devices currently cannot display Xert’s real-time metrics such as:
- MPA
- Magic Buckets
- Xert Dashboard
- or other Xert-related metrics
If you want real-time Xert guidance/metrics while riding, the supported options are:
- Xert EBC app, or
- Hammerhead Karoo, or
- Garmin (Connect IQ)

My Wahoo activity isn’t syncing to Xert — what should I check?
Most common causes:
- Xert is not authorized in the Wahoo app
- Auto-sharing is disabled
- The activity hasn’t uploaded to Wahoo yet (no phone sync / no internet)
Fast fix: Open the Wahoo app, confirm Xert is authorized, and confirm the activity is uploaded. Then refresh Xert.
My Xert workout isn’t appearing in Wahoo — what should I check?
Most common causes:
- Your Wahoo account isn’t connected in Xert (Sync → Wahoo)
- The workout isn’t scheduled/sent
- The workout is too complex for the platform format
Fast fix: Re-send the workout from Xert and restart/sync the Wahoo app/device.
Why can I sync activities but not workouts (or vice versa)?
