Problem:
Your activity (ride/run/workout) shows up in your recording app/device (Garmin, Zwift, Strava, etc.) but doesn’t appear in Xert.
Quick Fix (30 seconds)
- Confirm the activity is fully uploaded on the source platform first (e.g., Garmin Connect / Zwift / Strava).
- In Xert, go to Sync and confirm the relevant integration shows Connected.
- Wait 5–10 minutes and refresh the Today page (sync delays happen).
- If it’s still missing, disconnect and reconnect the integration (re-authorize permissions).
If That Doesn’t Work:
1) Confirm the Activity Exists at the Source
- Garmin: verify it appears in Garmin Connect
- Zwift/Rouvy/MyWhoosh: verify the session is saved and visible in the app
- Strava: verify the activity exists, even if set to Private
If it’s not there, Xert can’t import it yet.
2) Confirm the Relevant Integration is Still Connected
In Xert:
- Go to Sync → [Platform]
- Confirm status is Connected / Authorized
- If it looks disconnected (or you’re unsure), disconnect and reconnect to refresh permissions.
Possible cause: permissions revoked after password changes or app updates.
3) Check Activity Type Filters
Xert can filter what activity types it imports.
In Sync → [Strava/Garmin/Zwift, etc.], check the Activity Type filters (e.g., cycling only). By default, Cycling and Virtual Cycling activities should be synced to Xert from those platforms.
If the activity type is excluded, it won’t import automatically to Xert (e.g. if you don't have Xert configured to receive walking or hiking activities, Xert won't receive any walks or hikes)
4) Platform Limits: What each service can send to Xert
Some platforms only send activities that were recorded on that platform/device. Also, many integrations only sync newactivities and can’t be used to import full history.
- Garmin → Xert: Garmin only sends activities recorded on Garmin devices. It will not forward third-party activities (e.g., Zwift/Rouvy) to Xert.
- Strava → Xert: Strava imports activity data, but may not include the original FIT file (this can limit features like merging).
- Zwift / Wahoo → Xert: These integrations can sync new activities, but they don’t provide a way to bulk sync historical activities. For history, use Strava (or manual file upload).
5) Make Sure You’re Logged into the Correct Account(s)
This is more common than people think:
- Wrong Garmin/Zwift/Strava account linked to Xert
- Multiple Xert accounts used historically
Fix: disconnect/reconnect and confirm you’re authorizing the correct account.
6) Try a Short Test Activity
Record a short 2–3 minute activity on the source platform, save it, and see if it arrives in Xert.
- If the test imports: the missing activity may be filtered, delayed, or problematic.
- If the test also doesn’t import: it’s almost always permissions/connection-related.
7) Manual Upload (Fast Workaround)
If you have the original file:
- Download/export the activity file (FIT/TCX) directly from the platform that created it
- Upload to Xert using Sync > Upload Activity.
This is the fastest way to get an important activity into Xert while you troubleshoot the integration. If missing several activities, you can bulk upload them to Xert in a batch, rather than importing individual files.
Still Stuck?
Email support with:
- The missing activity date/time
- The platform it was recorded on (Garmin, Zwift, etc.)
- A screenshot showing it exists on the source platform
- (Optional) the activity file (FIT/TCX), if you can export it
We can quickly identify whether it’s a filter, permissions issue, or platform-specific limitation.
