Overview
Zwift is a popular indoor training platform for workouts, free rides, group rides, and races. Connecting Zwift to Xert creates a seamless workflow:
- Choose or schedule training in Xert
- Xert sends your cycling workout to Zwift
- Train in Zwift (workout, free ride, group ride, or race)
- Zwift syncs the completed activity back to Xert for analysis, progression, and updated recommendations
This lets you combine Xert’s adaptive planning (XATA) or outcome-driven planning (Forecast AI) with Zwift’s immersive training environment.

Integration Features
Automatic Import for New Activities
After you finish a Zwift ride or workout and Zwift uploads it, the activity will sync back to Xert automatically. Sync is usually quick, but may take longer if Zwift services are delayed.
Note: Zwift does not provide a simple “historical sync” to Xert. If you want to import older Zwift rides, the easiest options are:
- Sync historical activities via Strava, or
- Manually upload .FIT files to Xert
Structured Workouts Sent to Zwift
With Send Scheduled Workouts enabled, Xert can send either your scheduled workout or your Workout of the Day (WOTD) to Zwift.
Where to find your workout in Zwift
Workouts sent from Xert will appear in:
- Home → For You, and
- Workouts → Custom Workouts → Xert
Important notes
- Xert scales workouts using your Xert Fitness Signature, so you don’t need to constantly match Zwift’s FTP setting to Xert.
- SMART workouts lose their “smartness” when exported to third-party platforms (including Zwift). Dynamic SMART behavior (e.g., curving targets or fatigue-based completions) is replaced with static intervals based on %FTP when exported.
- If you reschedule or change a workout in Xert, re-send it so Zwift reflects the update.

Common Questions (FAQ)
Does Xert send workouts to Zwift automatically?
Yes — Xert can send your workout for the day (scheduled workout or WOTD), depending on your settings. If you change or reschedule a workout in Xert, re-send it so Zwift updates.
Where do Xert workouts appear in Zwift?
In the For You carousel and in Workouts → Custom → Xert .
Why do some workouts show "Free Ride" intervals?
Some Xert workouts include intervals intended to be performed without ERG-style control (often used for sprint/all-out efforts). In Zwift, these may appear as Free Ride segments. You will need to use your gears and cadence to control your effort. Unfortunately, Zwift does not show the target power for these intervals.
